Region locks explained
What the Global, Turkey, EU and NA region labels mean, and how to make sure a key will work on your account.
Publishers often sell keys that can only be activated in certain countries. This is called a region lock. Every product on herkesekey shows its region on the product page.
- Global: can be activated from any country.
- Turkey: can only be activated on accounts or from locations in Turkey.
- EU: can be activated in European Union countries (and sometimes other European countries, depending on the publisher).
- NA: North America (United States and Canada).
How to check before you buy
- 1Check the region label on the product page.
- 2For console codes (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo), check the country of your console account. It must match the key's region.
- 3For PC platforms such as Steam, the region is usually checked against your account's store country and your current location.
Using a VPN to bypass a region lock is against the terms of most platforms and can lead to your platform account being restricted. Keys that fail because of a region mismatch caused by the buyer are not eligible for a refund.
